What is it?
A contest to showcase all of our Intercoiffure America/Canada (ICA) A-Members’ (and their staff), Class A Partners’ (and their staff) work in the categories of: Creative Everyday; Avant Garde Creative Color; and Men’s Creative Cut & Color.
Who can enter?
Entry is limited to ICA A-Members; ICA Class A Partners; and staff of ICA A-Members and Class A Partners. *You do not have to be a Keune salon to enter.*
Please Note:
- All work submitted should be the sole work of the entrant/s. All work is accepted in good faith. Instant disqualification will apply to any person abusing this rule.
- For salons that specialize, each entry may only be entered one time – credit will be given to both parties. Please include your partner’s instagram handle (and name) when entering the contest.
- The judges’ decisions are final.
- ICA reserves the right to use any photographic entry and entrant’s name for promotional purposes.
How to enter?
- Post your final look to Instagram
- Use the contest hashtag (only use the hashtag for the category that you are entering, you may only enter one category per post):

- Tag @intercoiffureac and your salon. If you are working as part of a team please tag your partner so that we may credit you both.
- If your handle is not your name, please include your name in the caption. If you are entering as a team, please include your partner’s full name as well.
When are entries due and how are winners selected?
- Contest opens Wednesday, July 24, 2019 and closes Monday, September 9, 2019 6pm EST. No late entries will be accepted.
- Judging consists of two rounds
- The first round involves voting by the contest panel of judges
- The first round narrows the entries to Top 10 Finalists in each category
- Round two will be judged by members of the media and Intercoiffure leadership. They will determine the first, second and third place winners in each category.
- Top 10 finalists in each category and the Top 3 winners in each category will be announced at the Fall Atelier on Mainstage.
Contest category descriptions.
Creative Everyday
Entrants must create a well-executed, complimentary style based on texture of hair, face shape, and features. This should be a well finished style with consideration of current or future trends that can be worn for work or daily activities. Entrants can interpret this as they see fit but the final look must take into consideration the following:
Fashion: Taking inspiration from current trends while making them wearable
Innovation: Runway elements, with a classic, everyday wearable twist
Creativity: Haircut and color that is complimentary to the individual.
About hair extensions/wigs/other additions to model’s hair: Extensions and accessories can be used but cannot consume more than 25% of the hair. Full wigs are not allowed.
Finish: The work presented must always be exceptionally executed and technically correct.
Judging: Both hair color and hair cut/style will be considered equally in any decision making process.
Avant Garde Creative Color
Entrants must create a well-executed, inspirational, modern color showcasing a female look. This must be complemented by a beautiful style, finish and total look taking inspiration from upcoming trends. Entrants can interpret this as they see fit but the final look must take into consideration the following:
Fashion: Taking inspiration from trends
Innovation: Classic elements, with a brand new twist
Creativity: A color that has not been done before and could be a future trend
About hair extensions/wigs/other additions to model’s hair: Extensions and accessories can be used but cannot consume more than 50% of the hair. Full wigs are not allowed.
Finish: The work presented must always be exceptionally executed and technically correct.
Judging: Both hair color and hair cut/style will be considered equally in any decision making process.
Men’s Creative Cut & Color
Entrants must create a well-executed, complementary cut, color, and style showcasing a male look. This must be complemented by a well finished style and total look taking inspiration from upcoming trends. Entrants can interpret this as they see fit but the final look must take into consideration the following:
Fashion: Taking inspiration from trends.
Innovation: Classic elements, with a brand new twist
Creativity: A color that has not been done before and could be a future trend
