Member salons are encouraged to participate in this contest to help your New Stylists grow in confidence and creativity. This prestigious competition is tailored for burgeoning talent in the hairstyling industry, specifically featuring stylists with five years of experience or less.
Every year, our judges come out with a new theme to inspire submissions, keeping them fresh and inspiring. Previous judges include Scott Cole, Sonya Dove, Lois Christie, Anna Pacitto, Richard Calcasola, Mary Brunetti, and Vivienne McKinder. Encourage your new talent to show us what they’ve got!

This contest offers a unique platform for young stylists to showcase their skills, creativity, and innovation in hairdressing. Eligibility for this contest is exclusive to licensed cosmetologists who are part of a team working with Intercoiffure ‘A’ members or Class ‘A’ partners.
This initiative not only recognizes up-and-coming stylists but also integrates them into the wider community of Intercoiffure, a global organization known for setting high standards in the hairdressing industry. Participants in the Nouveau Contest are given the opportunity to demonstrate their artistic prowess and receive feedback from seasoned professionals, making this an invaluable stepping stone for those looking to cement their place in the competitive world of hairstyling.

How to Enter (ICA Members Only)
STEP 1 – RECOMMEND A STYLIST
We encourage you to recommend a team member, which will send them this information and encourage them to apply directly.
STEP 2 – THEY CREATE A LOOK
Your team member develops a before and after look on model. (They will submit only 1 image of each.)
Professional photography is encouraged for finished look. Submit 5 x 7 at 300 dpi, RGB, and ipeg format.
STEP 3 – THEY SUBMIT ENTRY
Team member fills out the entry form, including photos and photographers and models signed release forms.

CONTEST RULES
- Submit a complete look of your model.
- Please refrain from (1) using any salon logo; and (2) posting your photos on social media before Top Ten finalists are announced. Please understand that if you do so, you will be disqualified.
- Wigs and/or hair extensions may be used.
- Makeup should complement the character inspiration.
- All work submitted should be the sole work of entrants.
- All work is accepted in good faith. Instant disqualification will apply to any person abusing this rule.
- The judges’ decisions are final.
- Intercoiffure reserves the right to use the winner’s name and images for publicity purposes.
- Intercoiffure is not responsible for airfare or hotel accommodations.
- Top Ten finalists must be able to travel to New York or forfeit.
