Building Global Connections
A look at how international relationship-building is helping position ICA for future collaboration and growth.
Over the past year and a half, Salvatore Minardi has served as Intercoiffure America Canada’s World Talent Exchange Ambassador to Intercoiffure Mondial, representing our section on the international stage while helping strengthen relationships throughout the global Intercoiffure community.
Created to foster collaboration and talent exchange between Intercoiffure sections worldwide, the Ambassador role is designed to build connections, encourage cultural and artistic exchange, and support greater engagement between ICA and the global organization.
One of the highlights of Minardi’s term was representing ICA at Intercoiffure Mondial’s 100th Anniversary Celebration in Hamburg, Germany. The event brought together leaders, artistic directors, and members from more than 40 countries, creating opportunities to strengthen relationships and elevate ICA’s visibility within the worldwide Intercoiffure network.
Throughout his tenure, Minardi has focused on serving as a connector between ICA and international leaders. His efforts included building relationships with artistic teams and section leaders, facilitating introductions between ICA leadership and their global counterparts, and helping position ICA as an active participant in the international conversation shaping the future of professional beauty.
Among the outcomes of these efforts was the development of stronger connections with Intercoiffure Sweden, opening the door to future collaboration and exchange opportunities between the two sections.
Beyond representing ICA abroad, Minardi also worked to strengthen the Ambassador role itself. His goal was to help ICA President Scott Buchanan in his efforts to establish a framework future ambassadors can build upon while reinforcing the role’s purpose as a connector, cultural bridge, and facilitator of international opportunity.
Reflecting on the experience, several themes emerged repeatedly: connection, representation, cultural exchange, education through experience, and relationship building across borders.
ICA thanks Salvatore for his ongoing service, dedication, and commitment to strengthening our organization’s international presence. The relationships built during his ongoing term help create a foundation for future collaboration and continued engagement within the global Intercoiffure community.
