OATH OF MEMBERSHIP

Oath for INTERCOIFFURE Membership Induction

When we, the members of Intercoiffure America-Canada, present you with the emblem of this association, you have become, by means of an outward, visible sign, a member of our family.
Our association differs from the other societies and clubs of our profession in that membership cannot be obtained without meeting certain prerequisites. Therefore, two sureties are required who guarantee that these prerequisites do exist and no obstacles bar the way to membership. This rule has been complied with in your case, and our board of directors confirms your acceptance.
Intercoiffure is an association for the most prominent cosmetologists all over the world, many whose names not only carry importance for their proficiency and skill in their own country, but each of whom have in an ideal manner gained a reputation as pioneers for our profession, and who as individuals, have gained the respect of all their colleagues and fellow citizens.
Our aim is to induct ladies and gentlemen, in the truest sense, and only the elite of our profession, to cultivate a brotherly spirit, to assist each other in the professional, moral, and spiritual sphere and to exchange new ideas.
The emblem has an even deeper meaning and represents the following: the five pointed star symbolizes man, the top point being the head, symbol of the spirit; and the two vertical points – the legs, symbol of our earth bound state. The five points also represent the five senses and the five virtues as well as the five continents over which our association extends. The triangle symbolizes faith, hope and love.
We must also inform you today that membership in Intercoiffure America-Canada, apart from its advantages and privileges, a/so demands obligations and responsibilities regarding the rules and spirit of our association, as well as an obligation to contribute and a responsibility for your actions. We sincerely trust that you will never spoil this joyful moment by causing us to regret having accepted you as a member. I beg you to read your by-laws and membership guidelines carefully, and to never embarrass the association or a fellow member.

However, I must add, with optimism and joy, how very honored we are to have you join us, and we trust that in the future, you will make us even more proud because of your contributions and accomplishments as an outstanding member of Intercoiffure.
